What were USAF planes doing on a carrier?
I mean, they're not even equipped for carrier landings.
But I'm sure the Iranians have their story straight.

Well the carrier's planes, don't you know, were all spotted on the deck in preparation for a steal beach picnic, so they're planes couldn't respond in time.
Which is something we always do near a hostile country, never in a previously selected area away from any bad guys or anything. Stick to the holiday schedule is a phrase often heard from carrier skippers; "We have a holiday today folks, so we're taking a day off for a BBQ and some fun and remembrance for Memorial Day.
If you need a sarcasm tag, you aren't really reading.
