Iraqis' Accounts Link Marines to the Mass Killing of Civilians

A NYT hit job or Takiyya?

Four people who identified themselves as survivors of the killings in Haditha, including some who had never spoken publicly, described the killings to an Iraqi writer and historian who was recruited by The New York Times to travel to Haditha and interview survivors and witnesses of what military officials have said appear to be unjustified killings of two dozen Iraqis by marines. Some in Congress fear the killings could do greater harm to the image of the United States military around the world than the Abu Ghraib prison scandal.

The four survivors' accounts could not be independently corroborated, and it was unclear in some cases whether they actually saw the killings. But much of what they said was consistent with broad outlines of the events of that day provided by military and government officials who have been briefed on the military's investigations into the killings, which the officials have said are likely to lead to charges that may include murder and a cover-up of what really happened.

The name of the Iraqi who conducted the interviews for The Times is being withheld for his own safety, because insurgents often make a target of Iraqis deemed collaborators.

The Treason Media is not going to stop the "conservative" attacks on the GOP. Why in hell would it? This is just something else to throw at the President while he is being undermined by those allegedly his supporters.

Where else can the Treason Media get such great help? Rallies and demonstrations planned, organized, assisted, peopled and produced by the Party of Treason are used to ignite the "conservatives" outrage at the GOP and the President. This is the most successful scam of the Party of Treason since the Ports deal and is being used much more successfully.

The thing about this is that while everyone in this country (safe in their everyday surroundings) throwing fuel on the fire regarding this issue don't realize, is the increased pressure on our troops in the field because of this. When a thorough investigation is concluded and if the Marines are found guilty than they should and will suffer the consequences. Another thing people fail to realize is that in the Middle East it won't matter what the outcome of the investigation will be. You see how these people react to things. The damage is done. Hell...I'm going over in a few weeks. While I'm anxious to go, this situation should make it a much more interesting trip. If the press would provide at least a modicum of parity in their reporting we would have possibly been out of Iraq by now. My .02

Why does the NY Times quote Iraqi citizens as legitimate sources? A great many of these people, in particular the Sunnis, hate the U.S., Christians, Jews and all other 'infidels'. They are, of course, aware that bad publicity against America helps the insurgency to defeat us politicially and in the media war. This story has a much credibility as a five year old with chocolate on his face explaining that the cookies were stolen by the Cookie Monster.

That is question that the discloser of questionable sources in print in this article makes totally legitimate.

Also interesting to me is the second part of the following quote:

This brings up some important questions:

1. Aren't these "military officials" military officials more of the damnable anonymous leaks?
2. Are these official in the intelligence community?
3. Is this part of the same war in the CIA with Clinton appointee's?

I'll stick by our American Marines all the way! Murtha is simply a poor excuse for an American and to make all these assumptions when he really doesn't know what happened is absolutely inexcusable. God forgive me, but I really hate Murtha.
