There's no such thing as an ex-MarineIncorrect. Murtha, Dellums, Garwood, Lonetree, Dennehy, Oswald, Glenn, Massey, et al, are ex-Marines.
In this case the use of the noun ex- is incorrect but there are, indeed, ex-Marines.

From all the Marines I know personally....you're either active, reserve, attached to another branch, or just 'takin' a knee' from service.
Even after retiring from The Corps, those dudes and dudettes I mentioned, are still Marines with every fiber in there bodies. God Bless 'Em!!
