CANANDAIGUA NY--A Livingston Country woman has been charged with cruelty to animals after she left he dog in her car yesterday and went to the movies.

Ontario County Sheriffs Deputies arrested 49-year old Laurie Balcerak of Hemlock, New York. Deputies say Balcerak left her five month old cockapoo in her vehicle parked at the Wal-Mart Plaza in Canandaigua as she watched a movie.

A Wal-Mart truck driver heard the dog barking and called 911. The dog died in the car as temperatures reached a record 92 degrees yesterday. Police say the car was parked in direct sunlight and one window was cracked open slightly.

People should know better than to leave their dog or their child in a car on a hot day.

At first, I thought this was a police report about a woman named "Canandaigua." (How do you say that?) Well, it's only a matter of time!

This is an idiot who does not deserve a Dog's love and should rightly feel the wrath of Justice. But exactly what the Devil is a "cockapoo"? Never heard of 'em. I imagine it's a small dog...? A bizarre cross-breed of some sort?

I suggest we lock this woman in her car in 92 degree heat and see how long she lasts.

Cocker spaniel/miniature poodle--glorified mutt. The kind of dog stupid people go out and spend $800 on so that they can lock it in their car to die.

But exactly what the Devil is a "cockapoo"?

I believe that's an Algonquin Indian word meaning "barking rat".

It's a cross between a cocker spaniel and a poodle.

Can be. If it's 92 outside and you're a dog or a small child locked in car where the temperature will far exceed that.

"Canandaigua." (How do you say that?)

About 25 years ago, in Austin, I worked with a guy from Canandaigua. Let me see if I can do this. . .

If she didn't trust the dog alone in the house, she could have bought a dog crate to put it in while she was gone. It sure would have been a lot better for the dog than a heated one; her car.
