Military personnel should act as ambassadors for their country...
No they should not. They are there to kill people and break things.

If it means we can abolish the State Department (hear that, Linda?!?), then perhaps we can discuss making military personnel ambassadors. Until then [expletives deleted], Ms. Heard.

No they should not. They are there to kill people and break things. I agree. Those peopple that provide aid and comfort as well as know information that would be useful to our troops, are part of the problem and will not garner any sympathy from me. When faced with this situation, the US Marines acted correctly.

the most eloquent response I have seen to any of this.
Nobody likes it, but war is war.

I joined the National Guard to help my society out while getting my education. (Instead of leeching off society on just grants and such.) That being said, if I got activated to go fight while the killing would be regrettable, I'd do it (Especially because they're trying to kill me first.), but the destroying things sounds pretty fun.
Besides... as a self-admited pyromaniac, I like blowing things up and setting things on fire.

Actually it is the military (usually Marines) that protect ambassadors and other diplomats when their failed policies blow up in their face.

Right on, and they are trained extremely well in protecting our freedoms. Amen.
