Terrorist use bombs. Blow up US veicals. Hide behind women and children when chased. You call that following Geneva convention rules?
My bet is that the terrorist killed innocents just to blame it on the Marines for pr attention.
Who's Mrs. Heard that anyone cares what she thinks, and who is Mr. Heard and what did he do in the war? Any war?
"My bet is that the terrorist killed innocents just to blame it on the Marines for pr attention."
My uninformed opinion is that it is, in basis, true.
That seeing a buddy walk over to a wounded enemy and then seeing both blown to pieces, has an effect.
That seeing countless dead children, killed by their own parents, has an effect.
That being in a convoy of vehicles having to drive through traffic at 60 mph to dodge rpg attacks, has an effect.
Sometimes that effect causes a soldier to snap.
It is a product of the beast of war.
It is the military's duty to deal with it as it is currently doing, and the best interests of the public are served by the MSM, and all political partisanship staying completely out of it.
There I go, dreaming again.
"My bet is that the terrorist killed innocents just to blame it on the Marines for pr attention."
My thinking on this is, considering a 3 to 5 hour fight, and our troops being fired on, either: the terrorists killed the women and children, the terrorists used the women and children for human shields, or the women and children were the ones doing the firing on our troops.
I simply do not see our troops being fired on from 1 or more sources, and instead going into locations different than where the fire was coming from and killing anyone there.
I wonder if there is any forensic evidence to tie the killing to the Marines?
Yes, I agree. And I hope her articles (I haven't read them) reflect these things. I'm sure she routinely reports on the atrocities of the insurgents hiding behind children, ambushing our troops and Iraqis who oppose them. (with sarcasm)
You call that following Geneva convention rules?
Funny how she seems to apply these rules only to our troops and seems to care little that those we are fighting against don't seem to even know of the rules' existence. Like the insurgents in Iraq are carefully consulting the rules before their terroristic actions. And these terrorists aren't reacting to our troops and allies' troops presence, but merely continuing the terroristic actions they had long exacted on their fellow Iraqis before our arrival.
My bet is that the terrorist killed innocents just to blame it on the Marines for pr attention.
I tend to agree with you. But I await the results of the investigation. Naturally, if found true, those troops should be punished, it would be despicable - if true. (Listening, Ms. Heard?) Unlike Ms. Heard, I won't be 'trying' them and presuming guilt. But it does seem a little too much like Kerry's manufactured Jengis Khan-esque 'atrocities'... Especially in light of his recent insistence on continuing his 'war' against the Swift Boat Vets.
