"Google accused of left-wing bias in ad selection
The mainstream media has long been accused of leaning to the left, and now so has internet search giant Google. RightMarch.com says that Google rejected an ad that was anti-Nancy Pelosi, Democratic House minority leader, even though its wording was very similar to an anti-Tom DeLay ad Google ran with no problem. On its site, RightMarch.com has a screen shot of a Google search for the term “Tom DeLay,” which has an ad on the right side of the screen for DCCC.com that reads: “Learn about DeLay’s many scandals and help us clean up the House!” The site also posts an ad disapproval notification from Google for an ad that reads: “Learn about Pelosi’s many scandals and help us clean up the House!” In the disapproval, Google wrote: "At this time, Google policy does not permit ad text that advocates against an individual, group or organization. In addition, this policy does not permit the advertisement of websites that advocate against a group protected by law.”
