This is truly outrageous. If you boil down what he says, he is making serious allegations based on rumours and the rumormongering press is amplifying them. We need to get an FCC with some teeth go after lies as well as naked boobs.

You are right we do get to blow off a lot of steam here, especially in areas and on subjects where there is little we can do except alert others.
A pertinent example is Murtha. If I lived in his district, you better believe I'd be out on the streets campaigning against him.
I was never a fan of Eleanor Roosevelt's, but I found a copy of a prayer/poem that she is said to have carried in her purse the duration of World War II. It reads:
Dear Lord
Lest I continue
My complacent way
Somewhere out there
A man died for me today
As long as there be war
Then I must Ask and answer
Am I worth dying for?
After Murtha's condemnation of the Marines, I wonder if a Marine would consider him worth dying for?

But we can do that and more. We can also contribute financially to his opponent, Diana Irey. We can sign up for her campaign E-mails and forward them to friends/family in that district (or nearby), we can write letters to the editor, and we can demand our Congressional reps denounce Murtha's behavior.
Very strong words and well said. Many of us would have to think hard about it.
I believe the answer would eventually be yes. For though he doesn't understand or doesn't care, he's an American.

I'm going to make a bold prediction here and say that this whole Iraq thing is not going to end well. When you have shrill people like Murtha, John Kerry and the MSM constantly seizing every opportunity to defame and destroy our military and our President, nothing good can come of it.
When I returned to the States from SE Asia through California in January, 1966, I was shocked at the level of protest that greeted me and others. And, that was only 1966. What followed as we moved into the early seventies was even more shocking.
I have always tried never to be a propher of doom, but when I say that this is not going to end well, I truly believe it. I wish, with all my heart that it would, but I know that, just as was the case during the Vietnam era, these people are not going to relent and they really don't give a damn about how it affects our national honor.
I can't imagine that it will destroy the nation. But, I can imagine that it will so damage our international reputation that it will begin a slide into "insignificance" for this great nation. I hope to Hell that I'm wrong and would appreciate it if any of you could point out to me just how wrong I am.
The RAT media keeps referring to murtha as a Republican. Obviously, they're doing this on purpose.

Well, he's got that right. I, Just A NOBODY, have done more for the troops than he has. How do I know? The troops tell me so!

Last Friday, June 2nd, I sat and visited with 10 of our troops. I mentioned Diana Irey and the new "vets4Irey" website. When asked who she was, I informed them she was running against Murtha.
Well, the poker game stopped as everyone of them yelled obscenities directed at Murtha. I said, so you do know him? I guess you would as he says he visits here every week. They proceeded to tell me that is untrue. I suggested they may not know about it as they are now in the step down unit.
Without saying too much, I will tell you this.....there were 2 or 3 there that would be in the know, and they claim he does not visit, certainly not weekly or one of them would know about it. They also said everyone knows when one of the critters is there because they travel with an entourage, including a camera crew.
I want to see some Murtha reactions to the extinguishing of Zarqawi. I suspect he is grim of countenance today.

It is worse than that because those people DO give a damn. They look for the failure of America and its conquest as a cleansing of the planet.
