"What is Murtha's motivation? "My guess is that Murtha was chosen to try to spin another Me Lai out of whatever happened. Same old dumbascrap approach. You know, 32 year retired Marine, Vietnam veteran, two purple hearts, standard war hero profile etc.
I can't help wondering what real war hero Oliver North thinks of him.

The scuttlebutt is that Murtha is PO'd about the Iraq war because it took business away from some of his defense contracting pals that were focused on China. He wants the war shut down so he can refocus it on China to benefit the guys who have been bankrolling his campaigns.
Don't forget Murtha was an unindicted co-conspirator in the Abscam scandal 25 years ago. He's been dirty for a long time.
