The good guys finally won one. After months of battling against well funded and powerful Libs, the state Conservatives came together and saved the day.

Thanks so much for your report. I head out to the Republican convention in San Antonio at the end of this week.

I'm so glad we have maintained a strong conservative platform in Texas. Often, I wonder about conventions in the not-so-red states.

It was great to read your report. We need to pray that this trend spreads across the country.

Here is Doug Parris's press release from Friday (two days ago):

What the....?

That was my question too. Just the other day the Ronald Reagan Wing was shut out, in WA. And yet today there is a great victory. I do not understand.

A little light of day shined on abusers can do wonders. Once the word got out of what the State Chairman had done, she suddenly found room for the Conservatives. Read it here.

But, when push comes to shove from now until November, can the WAGOP "sow the snap"? Seems like most campaign funding is from RINOs and other limpwrists.

I'm praying. Great report.

We'll see.

Changing the political culture of WA, including that of the state GOP, takes time.

Reagan didn't get nominated the first time he ran after all. The key is that he didn't accept that status quo and "join them". He simply added to his ranks by being consistently a strong advocate for conservatism and finally prevailed.

This is a significant victory, but it's only one battle and there will be undoubtedly setbacks.

This is absolutely wonderful news coming on the back of a barrage of disheartening dismal news.

Thanks so much to those who fought so hard to restore our platform while the rest of us were enjoying the weekend.

Yes, the Reagan Wing WAS shut out of having a booth to distribute literature. But the Reagan Wing, official members and non-official members could not be shut out because we were elected delegates. It was prayer, and the orchestration of God that we had this victory.

The list of victories on the platform include, not only the two immigration amendments, but support of a one strike law for violent sex offenders, opposition to embryonic stem-cell research, support for the suspension and review act on RU-486, and the total repeal of the growth management act that violates property rights. These were all amendments to the Establishment's proposed platform.

But, the Republican officials are already distancing themselves from the platform, so we need to hold their feet to the fire. Help us do it, by telling everyone you know.
