This "path to citizenship" is a crock. I haven't heard any illegals asking to become citizens.
If anything, they are here to work and send money to family back in Mexico.
Their allegiance is to Mexico. The demonstrations prove that.
Forget the citizenship thing. They don't want it, and we don't want it.
How about a 50% tax on money sent back to Mexico, with all funds to be used to build the fence.
I haven't heard any illegals saying they are here to break laws, either. Their actions speak louder than their silence.
If they were allowed to vote, even through the fiction of "citizenship", while maintaining their allegiance to Mexico, and continuing to vote in Mexican elections, they can enjoy the best of both worlds!
And continue to screw real Americans with impunity.
I laugh, every time I hear any idiot say "they have a naturalizaion certificate! They are Americans!"
Well, I never bought into the concept that fraud has disappeared, even if the prosecution of it has.
We have millions of fraudulent "real" Americans now! Do we need 12 to 20 million more?
I couldn't agree more. The citizenship smoke and mirrors game is a senate, executive branch, hands across the border, reach out to Presidente Fox, and his merry band of permanent guest workers doing what we won't do.
To have the word citizenship, in a bill about criminal, illegal behavior, leaves me stunned beyond belief at how far the senate has strayed from principle.
Certainly in keeping with my belief of some ten years now, that the United States Senate is the single most dangerous group of human beings on the face of the earth.
Untouchable by anyone or anything, and secure in their arrogant disregard for Constitution, Rule of Law, good of the country, and every other prinicple that should be a guiding light to the deaf dumb and blind members, amounting to about two thirds of its membership.
Your post needs to be repeated over and over, especially to those in Congress promoting a "path to citizenship."
Guest workers--yes.
Citizenship--no.
