I agree with your sentiment, but in this case it's kinda hard to not talk about the immigration issue on this thread when the Senate immigration bill is the main topic on the shows.
Now, if we could only keep the anger out of the posts... sigh...
Ann Coulter's idea is to hire the illegals to build the wall, with them working from the southern side, I presume.

Oh, no. I wish him a defeat and a LONG unhappy life.
We definitely need some new blood in congress.
I did not know that, perhaps he was anti GOP because he is a NY City kind of Guy. I never heard Ray Kelly say anything Negative about Pubbies,it it is not like the subject comes up much. Liberals make horrible Police Chiefs. If Greg Kelly does not shape up and do a better job of reporting, he will be replaced especially since the Conservatives have his number now. He listens to the Liberal Reports and then Parrots them.
Like minds on old Lou, he has his moments.
You could not be more wrong. Murtha is stinking up the place with lies and propaganda and has thus far been given a pass because that is how it has been planned by the Liberal leadership of Nancy Pelosi. They put him out there to spew this crap because he is under investigation and he knew he had to do this to help them, and they would protect his sorry rear end by condemning every Republican that criticized him for his fraud and kickbacks as just attacking him because of his Anti-War stance. They were on the offensive way ahead of the game, and they blew right by you.. Don't you read anything about Murtha? Can you add two and two and actually get four? I'm not going to do your homework for you. Before you call someone else lame do some research on your own Buddy!!!!!!!!!!! Reminds me of having to explain a Joke to someone two or three times and they still do not get it.
That is what I am looking for conversation and no anger filled, hate filled rants. Almost every thread about Immigration by the first 10 posts, I skedaddled. It just seemed like everyone was hormonal, not willing to talk or engage anyone, just strike out. They might as well have been uttering "Die, you swines, I will get you, and your %^^$@#$%%^President too",because that is what every thread deteriorated to long before the first 20 posts.
DITTO, what you said---I have been posting a LOT less the last few months...
Truman had a line about attitudes like this. It was something about heat and kitchens.
If you think the level of vitriol now is bad read about how politics was played from our first Presidency up through the Second World War. Everything since WW2 has been pattycake compared to that. I mean, you have heard of Burr and Hamilton's little argument, haven't you?
What's even worse is that Jimmah was an Annapolis graduate with a degree in nuclear engineering. He helped design the nuke power plants for US subs while in the navy. I would have thought Admiral Hyman G. Rickover would have had him flayed alive and jettisoned out the nearest hatch for pronouncing it that way.
Of course, I'm above such pettiness (yeah, right).
I love your Day in the Life of President Bush thread and read it when I see it. I've seen others here mentioning that you have a ping list? If so could you add me? Thanks, it's a delightful read/viewing when I find it.
Jimmah is just using the Southern pronunciation, as GWB does. I only point out the inconsistency of no one ever making one comment about the way Carter talks. And you are right, his naval career was with nuclear ships, which should cause just a few pundits to comment. But, no...
Protecting legislators from the depredations of a despotic executive is fundamental to a republican form of government (notice, small "r" - we are not a democracy, we are a democratic republic, there's a big difference). The people's representatives must not be subject to coercion by a tyrant. I think we came dangerously close to such tyranny during the Clinton's reign, witness what they did do to their oponents such as Billy Dale and the much rumored blackmail they employed based on illegally obtained FBI records of their opponents.
Our royal family not only having no say in the actual policy of our government but it is frowned upon them making any form of political point or statement.
I heard some bits of complaint when HRH Charles recently spoke out on issues like Global Warming. He had earlier been chastised for being too vocal about bad architecture and for spreading alarmist concerns about bio-tech and "grey goo" destroying life on the planet. I have great sympathy for Charles, the man, being in the situation he's in. I have very little use for his public positions, as I've seen them reported. Of course, I always remember the source...
I've told you the extent of the fascination my wife and I have for the English royal family? Suffice it to say that our youngest is named Victoria Elizabeth.
Oh, man! LOL!!!!!!!!!
However much I disagree with the positions Teddy (and therefore Evan) takes, that kind of loyalty is somewhat admirable, given the circumstances.
Did you ever see the movie The Big Country, with Gregory Peck, Burl Ives and Charlton Heston? It reminds me of the misplaced loyalty Ives had for his nasty son (played by Chuck "the Rifelman" Connors). When Ives finally found out what a piece of _____ his son was he killed him himself, sparing Peck's character the necessity. The flip side of that was Charlton Heston's loyalty to Charles Bickford's character of "the Major." Both Ives and Heston showed admirable loyalty that was eventually betrayed by lesser individuals, ones who didn't deserve the loyalty of better men and it cost them all dearly. Classic western theme.
Somehow I don't think that applies precisely to this situation, however.
He's never been elected to anything and if that makes it hard for Condi it would totally eliminate Evans. Plus he's another "oil man" and is currently working as "CEO of the Financial Services Forum, a trade association representing the CEOs of financial services firms dedicated to promoting policies that encourage an open and competitive global marketplace" (from Wikipedia). That would make him one of those "evil capitalists" and a partisan in the "globalization" debate. He'd be chopped up in itty bitty pieces.
