Once the Left drives Christianity underground, the society is ripe for a takeover by Islam. This is exacerbated by Russia's location, but is happening.

Tis true. I'm dating a Russian girl now, and she flat out told me that she could never see herself having more than one child in Russia, but she wants 3 if we marry.

Whenver I read stories like this I wonder what the attraction to Islam is. It seems to appeal to people who have a need for a strong set of rules about how to live; self-determination and individual initiative are frightening to these people, and they need an outside source of rules for getting through life.

Good point.

Whenever I read these stories I keep thinking of brownshirts. The young and angry who feel like outsiders yet crave a sense of belonging.

One of the big ones is that Aids is going to absolutely destroy Russia over the coming years. They already have a massive birthrate issue over there. In Putins latest state of the union, he was begging Russians to have children. The same speeches your starting to hear out of western european leaders.
Combine that with a growing aids epidemic and its a ethnic recipe for disaster.

The muslim hordes will be moving north quickly.

It shouldn't surprise us. Russia has defense agreements with the following nearby states and is working with Iran and Syria to destabilize the Middle East. Russia did the same long ago with Islamist nations to start the Six Day War.

Kazakhstan
slightly less than four times the size of Texas
Religions:
Muslim 47%, Russian Orthodox 44%, Protestant 2%, other 7%

Kyrgyzstan
slightly smaller than South Dakota
Religions:
Muslim 75%, Russian Orthodox 20%, other 5%

Tajikistan
slightly smaller than Wisconsin
Religions:
Sunni Muslim 85%, Shi'a Muslim 5%, other 10% (2003 est.)

What Russia really needs to do is shrink. It needs to give the Muslim parts of the empire their independence and put up minefields on the borders. What is happening to Russia today is what happened to the Manchurians from the git-go when they conquered China. The Chinese outnumbered the Manchurians more than 20 to 1. In their greed and their stupidity, the Manchurians kept all of China. When the Chinese overthrew the Manchurians at the beginning of the 20th century, they asserted a claim to all of Manchuria, and made it stick. Over time, the Manchurians lost their customs and their language, and are now just another Chinese minority. Once were warriors.

[Vladimir Putin’s call is almost zero. Main reason behind fast decline in non-Muslim population in Russia is, particularly larger section of young females in the country is not in favor of having even any child. If someone has, that is also limited within one only. On the other hand, almost all the Muslim couples have at least three children. The number generally ranges between 3-5.]

The iniquity of liberalism is destroying nations worldwide, and the Muslim nations have but to wait and procreate.

I think you're pretty close in explaining it. It's very austere and it's going to appeal to people who want a strong sense of discipline. I think that partly explains why it's so popular in American prisons. I think part of it's appeal is that it also puts men in a position superior to that of women.

One of Christianity's problems is that much of it has become very feminized. Men are simply not comfortable going to churches with women clergy or in some cases homosexual clergy and a theology that is all too often espousing secular feminism. The results are there for all to see.

Go into a church these days and do a head count. Mostly women and older women at that, and very few children or families. Churches that don't value men and fathers are not going to see them attending.

The "attraction" is, if you are born into a Muslim family you are a Muslim. You can't leave. It's a death sentence.

Islam is a demonic system which holds its' adherents in spiritual and physical slavery though a combination of culture, Law and force. The road is very wide to get in, but very narrow and dangerous if one decides to get out. One has to do it in secret and it's like defecting to another country. You have to leave family, friends, and forsake all, living in fear for the rest of your life.

Very true. There are many churches that practice a dead faith and worship a dead god (little g).

Putin's Baby Love

New York Times
5/21/06 | VIKTOR EROFEYEV

MOSCOW - Since my daughter Maya was born 10 months ago, I've noted that many of my Russian friends are more likely to express amazement than to share my joy. "Do you really like fussing around with kids?" asked one of them, a television journalist, with sincere incredulity.

It might be that this notion of children as a burden, as an unnecessary bother, is the psychological reason for the catastrophic decline in Russian birth rates (the average woman has 1.34 children, and for every 16 Russians who died in 2004, only 10.4 babies were born). It's hard enough to get by — let's leave children for the future.

Imagine a large city, population 700,000. Every year, Russia loses every person in that city. While 35,000 people are killed in automobile accidents each year, even more die from drugs, alcohol and the consequences of an unhealthy lifestyle. Death triumphs over birth in a country that the state-owned news media grandly calls an energy superpower. The state, at last, has taken note.

In something of a bantering tone, which has become his style of late, President Vladimir Putin declared that the primary concern of the state is now love and motherhood. He proposed to resolve the love question capitalistically; to use financial incentives to raise the birthrate. Thus a woman who decides to have a second child will get about $10,000. And the president underpinned his concern for motherhood with a military concept, arguing that a dwindling population would leave the country unprotected.

I just returned to Moscow from China — where there is an effective ban on a second child — with a strange thought: the Chinese could export extra children to Russia. Really. Until now, Russia has been exporting its children through foreign adoptions. Orphanages effectively trade in children.
