I really think you believe that there is a deep bench out there of honorable folks chomping at the bit to get into politics. The sad fact is that politics has NEVER attracted very many truly honorable, principled people. The very nature of the compromises needed to engage in the political arena is alien to that type of person.

Hey, don't hit me with facts - it is hard enough to come up with a solution.
Well, with more turnover, we would get the ones wanting to serve the country and lose the ones getting in to collect corruption funds.
