The article said that is a felony. She "shot a deadly missile into an aircraft".
If it didn't get into the aircraft, that law can't possibly hold.
Now, she attempted to do so. That is different.
However, one can't rightfully say a bottle rocket that even the pilot said didn't jeopardize the aircraft was a "deadly missile".

That seems a stretch, especially that it went *into* an aircraft. If so, she's a great shot, though.
