Unfortunately because your writing is unclear, no one can figure out whether you're insulting the Marine in the story, immigrants in general, illegal immigrants, the immigration and naturalization process, the US, or what. If you're going to make a comment, it would be useful to formulate your sentences clearly. As things are, you've simply stirred up ill feeling on the thread.

I couldn't find an Insult anything about Illegal or anything unclear, the Marine could have became a Citizen earlier, (just as many other people can) but chose to now.
(What is hard for some, is easy for most Marines) OK I just threw that in there...
Dual Citizenship has its attributes
US Citizenship has its attributes
Foreign Citizenship has its attributes
I flew with a Doctor (who had served as an Enlisted Crewman for years) until the Navy forced him to either become an Officer or give up flying as an Enlisted, he just quit... period
Snob factor?
You can read much into any post but remember you bring more to the post than the post provides.
I personally prefer posts that leave the door open... ill feelings are usually caused by poor hygiene or a contaminated cutting board in the kitchen. (Or a 12 pack of Lawnmower Beer and the latest UFC)
