VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson says he has leg-pressed 2,000 pounds, but some say he'd be in a pretty tough spot if he tried.

The "700 Club" host's feat of strength is recounted on the Web site of his Christian Broadcasting Network, in a posting headlined "How Pat Robertson Leg Pressed 2,000 Pounds."

Probably of the "move plates 2 inches without much knee motion and declare victory" variety.

"Pat Robertson says he leg-pressed 2,000 pounds"

Correction: Jesus told him to say that!

reverse leg presses are not that hard.

I have seen the untrained do 400 lbs.

Seriously, your legs are pretty strong is not not an unreasonable feat with modest training.

Perhaps he has caught Kim Jong Il syndrome.

The first time he turned his hand to golf, he scored five holes-in-one and beat the world record for a single round by 25 strokes.

I has to laugh when Anderson Cooper brought a weightlifter to prove Robertson wrong, and I thought to myself "WHO CARES?!?!"

It boggles the mind what passes as news these days.

And I saw this video and I have to say Pat, lies make the Baby Jesus cry.

From Canada.com.

Clay Travis of CBS SportsLine.com called the 907-kilo assertion impossible in a column this week, writing the leg-press record for football players at Florida State University is 302 kilos less. "Where in the world did Robertson even find a machine that could hold 2,000 pounds at one time?" Travis asked. Andy Zucker, a strength-training coach at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va., said leg-presses of more than 450 kilos represent "a Herculean effort and 2,000 pounds is a whole other story." "If he was able to lift that much weight, I take my hat off to him but the numbers suggest that people who lift that much weight are few and far between," Zucker said.

Maybe Robertson should play golf with N. Korean dictator, Kim Jong-il, who got 18 holes in one the first time he played.

It's nice to know that folks are out there making sure that Christians won't get taken seriously on any matter whatsoever.

Pat Robertson, always the gentleman, seems to exist solely in order to give Tammy Faye the day off.
