This is the legislative equivalent of Katrina and 9/11 rolled into one ... and you call it "griping" to point that out?

Please, sir, get a grip *and* a clue. The country is vastly *under-*reacting to the danger this awful and dangerous CIRA bill poses to the country. 60 million new immigrants in 20 years, illegal immigrants awarded not just amnesty, but citizen and the goodies of soc security benefit for constributions under fraudulent soc sec numbers; amnesty for their employers too.

Nobody is asking for that ... we are simply asking to pass HR4437 *NOW* and wait for the rest later.

You are wrong. People on these threads are demanding deportations by the boatload.

There is nothing saying that we should not be cracking down on people who hire illegals from the lawncare people, to the painters, to the construction sites and even those nice rich folks who cannot seem to find it in them to raise their own children. The Senate bill is not the final piece of legislation as it will be worked out in conference with the House. Does it suck? Yes. But politicians are all about expediency and that's just what they are going to do. Claim they did something to reform immigration then go out and pander for Hispanic votes. Call it spineless, call it cowardly but don't forget to call it politics because that's what this is about.

My point was that Bush actually got something accomplished this month and no one seems to care.
