Felony records of minors are routinely expunged when they turn 18 ?
I can't completely agree with that.
He had wounded a large dangerous animal that then ran away.
Morally, he had to notify someone so that the animal didn't go berserk on the next homo sapien he came across.
Was it sort of stupid because he had a felony at the age of 17? Well, yeh, but I respect the fact that he didn't just let a large, dangerous, wounded animal run loose to wreak havoc on some unsuspecting person.
WA PING
BTTT
I reckon they're pouring on extra legal gravy just to make sure they nail him good.
[they wouldn't wanna lose him on some silly court technicality...like maybe his life was in imminent danger, such as a horrible death by mauling]
Say WA? Evergreen State ping
FReepmail sionnsar if you want on or off this ping list.
Ping sionnsar if you see a Washington state related thread.
That's a good point but he could've gone and finished it off himself.
That would've been the merciful thing to do, from the hunting perspective, anyway.
[being obviously in bear territory, he'd have been smart to have heavier weapons on hand]....:)
But he might not have been able to handle and bury the carcass.
I could be wrong, but I think everything you're charged as a juvenile for goes away at 18. That's the whole point of charging under-18's as adults - the conviction DOES go on their permanent records.
"Enright was convicted of felony burglary 24 years ago when he was 17 years old."
Why can people VOTE after serving time but can't get their SECOND AMENDMENT rights back??
24 years ago, whne he was 17 ????
Idiotic.
But then Seattle, as I understand it, joined Miami, New York City, Kalipornia, all of New Jersey and Massachusetts, as former United States territory.
Fish and Wildlife Officers usually have more sense. This is an outrageous taking... and apparent consideration of charges for hunting would be outrageous. This comes on the heels of nightly reports of bears in the suburban North end for the last week.
It's always good to have a Bobcat handy.
[note to self; buy Bobcat...just in case]
They can. I know someone who did, over a similar enough criminal history while a minor.
Anyone notice these guys have a lot of time on their hands for a chickens*&t case like this?
As a former prosecutor I once had a felon shoot and kill an intruder in the middle of night in his bedroom with his wife being terrified. The gun was bought by his wife (back traced) and we declined prosecution on any level. In my book you always have the right to defend yourself and family, Period!
Fish and Wildlife Officers used to come from the ranks of hunters and outdoorsmen, and they had an understanding and respect for the role of hunting in wildlife management.
Nowadays they come from Evergreen.
A certain percentage of this problem might be just that.
