I have already e-mailed Sens. Talent and Bond thanking them for their opposition to S.2611.
Good for them. They might get a buck or two for their re-election campaigns.
We are very proud of our junior senator...he is up for re-election, and you can bet the Rats have his seat targeted. It will be close, but he should survive. He is running against Claire McCaskill...
That's MY Senator. And one of the 4000 constituent correspondences was mine too - it is encouraging to see the system.... working(?) Or, at least resembling that it's working.
But in the last month, I have received over 4,000 calls, e-mails, and letters urgently in opposition to this measure before us, and I think a word should be spoken on behalf of the concerns of those constituents. They are not paranoid because, in a world of terrorism, they want the border under control. They are not ungenerous because they worry about jobs for themselves and their children. And they are not less progressive than Washington opinionmakers because they believe in the sovereign right of a democratic people who decide who and who shouldnt become a resident of this country.
Amen!
Those of us who want to retain our country's sovereignty need to support, with words and MONEY, those senators who stood against this outrageous sell-out, even if we live in other states. The coming election is critical.
I see that he has heard our message. When this issue started becoming more prominent I had the opportunity to mention to him my thoughts on the subject in no uncertain terms. He was very gracious and sat down and talked to me for 10 minutes or so right before a church service. I can see that he has a much more honed and articulated approach on the subject now. Not that he hadn't thought about it, but simply that our clear voices seemed to have their effect. I think it was a great speech.
Cordially,
Excellent job. He nailed every point. Too bad it fell on so many deaf ears.
I'll be contributing to Sen. Talent's campaign.
Has she announced her support of the bill, o will she emulate Byrd, Stabenow, Dorgan, and Nelson (Ne)?..all of whom voted against the bill, and all of whom, just coincidentally, are up in November..
Very interesting!
I am very proud of both of our Senators today!

It is breathtaking to listen to such simple, rational, intelligent, dispassionate logic compared to the spin and blather being issued by Bush, McPain, Frist et al.
It is no wonder he is in a minority in the Senate - he is surrounded by idiots and they know it.
I will never send money to the RNC. I will send money only to those Republicans that support our country.
Yeah, they did us Missourians proud. Got to support them. Talent is actually a good man...in the senate no less...must get lonely
Feinstein especially told constituents that she "didn't believe in blanket amnesty", yet she voted for it. Boxer is just as bad.
They keep getting elected due to the entitlement mentality here in Mexifornia.
Well Jan - there is lot's of land here in the beautiful Ozarks available if you ever decide to just cut your losses, but we need folks like you out there fighting to take back the republic in CA... keep the faith.
Hey, I'd be going back to my roots! I was born in Fort Smith MANY years ago, came to CA as an infant. Arkansas is a beautiful state, as I found out while visiting there ten years ago.
