What? No Ted Nugent?
...and had I known that she was being honored for anything, two blocks from my house, I'd have been out there protesting her! We could have made a night of it, APO2.
I'm a little confused. I go to the museum/historical center at least twice a month. I have never seen this walk of fame. Is the historical center the actual site of the walk, or are the plaques somewhere else in Michigan?
Jeff Daniels, on the other hand, kicks ass. Michigan is so lucky to have a guy like him. he not only makes movies here, he's still got some common sense:
A panel of judges, whose names have been kept secret to protect the process, scored the nominations based on factors such as whether their lives and accomplishments should be taught to fourth-graders. State officials have, in fact, talked about integrating information on the inductees into the curriculum, a prospect Daniels called "scary.""The idea that kids will be learning about the guy who sat on a toilet in 'Dumb and Dumber'..." he said. "I'm not sure what the educational value is there, but good luck to the teacher trying to find it."
He's right, although not so much about himself as his some of his fellow inductees.
1)The idea of scaring children with Helen Thomas's face in their history book is sick.
2)Teaching kids anything about Helen Thomas that doesn't include the fact that she's an unprofessional America-hating socialist is so misleading as to be a lie.
Unless you have to be a native Michigander, it's a crime not to see Gordie Howe's name on this list.
you're in downtown lansing? looks like the walk of fame is gonna be going down washington square between ottawa and lenawee.

at least they didn't put michael moore on it.
That's a great way to make sure nobody sees it!
Meanwhile, in Missouri:

Got that right!
I haven't heard about this or seen this now with Helen included "walk of shame" either?
LOL!
Thanks for posting. Interesting.
"...Born in Winchester, Kentucky, Helen Thomas was raised in Detroit, Michigan where she attended public schools and later graduated from Wayne State University..." From a speakers bio website
Thanks, thanks a lot./sarc
