Of course PresBush has been slowing driving for guest worker amnesty since he took office. The original S.2611 came down April 7 2006. The first amendment to S.2611 was introduced on May 15 2006. The Senate immigration reform proposal has been called McCain-Kennedy and Hagel-Martinez. The House version HR4437 was passed through a floor vote last December 2005, 239-182, 92% of Republicans supporting and 82% of Democrats opposing.

If there is a Congressional conference committee, this joint session of Senate and House members will attempt to create a compromise proposal between a liberal guest worker amnesty proposal (S.2611) and an enforcement only proposal (HR4437).

Frankly, I don't think there will be any bill this year for Bush to sign.

Please explain this one sentence....thanks.

It seemed we were on a fast tract to Vicente Fox's wishes until Sept 11....

..then everything was shelved temporarily.

IMO,most US citizens didn't understand or even know the vast problem we have with illegals....until recently .

If 9/11 hadn't happened all of this we're discussing today would already have been a moot point!
