This rebuttal may be wasted on you, but we also got a lot of other things, from abortion, tax rate cuts, a War on Terror, two constructionist SCOTUS judges, and numerous other major, major things we wouldn't have gotten under Gore or what's his name.

My point was/is this: Calex wants us to vote D again to punish the R's. It's not only stupid, it's dangerous to us and our grandchildren. Look at the Clinton I years. He's bucking for the Clinton II years.

The exchange on it being a misdemeanor to enter the US was nonsensical. First, whatever bill comes out of the House or Senate will still have it as a misdemeanor. The House bill makes it a felony, but Sensenbrenner tried to make it into a misdemeanor, but the Dems blocked the amendment to put a poison pill into the Bill. It will most certainly be changed in conference if anything emerges, The WH doesn't support making it a felony, so Snow's argument makes no sense. In any event, misdemeanor or not, the penalty is deportation.

Under Simpson-Mazzoli--SEC. 112. UNLAWFUL TRANSPORTATION OF ALIENS TO THE UNITED STATES. it is a felony for someone to assist people to enter the country illegally.

Fact is being an Illegal is not even a felony. It is a little more serious legally than a traffic ticket in being a misdemeanor but is also LESS serious since there are no penalties attached BY LAW to being one.

Snow is clearly NOT lying here.
