Frist is describing a completely different bill from what was passed. this is ironic:

"It replaces rhetoric with real enforcement and sends a very clear message that there is a right way and a wrong way to enter this country."

This is untrue in so many ways .... just 2 examples of how enforcement is gutted:

That's why it's such an infuriating letter. It is a letter that might have worked in the 1950's when people's only access to information was what they were spoonfed by the networks. It's just an example of the contempt that these people hold toward those that they are forced to court for votes to keep them in office. I think Frist's total disconnection from the Republican base on this issue alone demonstrates his total incapacity to be President. As I said, the only bright spot is that he's not running for re-election so that he's saving us the trouble for defeating him.

On that note, according to today's AP article, Senator Graham today is basically challenging us to vote him out of office - "Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. argued for finishing the bill before the November elections.

'This is one problem that is not going to wait until the next election," Graham said. "If you win or lose because you make a hard decision, so be it.'"

I, for one, have my checkbook all ready for any conservative primary challenger who wants to help make his wish come true.
