I think this is reasonable. I also think technology will bail us out of this one if necessary. Speaking of biofuels, I think this is a great "conservative" cause. What better issue than something that would help domestify our energy needs, and also help the American farmer? Conservatives and most freepers are missing the boat, we can jump on this issue, cautiously and conservatively.

With current biofuel technology, there is not enough farmland in America to meet her need for fuel.

It's such an obvious winner that I can't understand why the Prez and Congress don't seize the reins a lot more forcefully and start pushing -- a stronger effort here could literally alter the election in November.

Agree completely. The global warming naysayers are wrong to deny that global warming caused by human action exists, but the enviromental activists are equally wrong to think that you can ignore the basic laws of economics the way their opponents ignore the laws of ecology, and that there's an easy quick fix that can reverse the effects of over 200 years of massive emissions of various pollutants.
