WASHINGTON - In the first chapter of what is likely to be a blistering campaign, U.S. Rep. John Murtha's Republican challenger, Diana L. Irey, traveled to Washington yesterday to decry Mr. Murtha as one-time patriot who has "lost his way" after his recent comments about a November incident involving U.S. Marines and civilian killings in the city of Haditha, Iraq.

John Murtha is more than a loose cannon, he is dangerously close to being a traitor and perhaps he is...he sure as heck encourages the enemy with his ravings also says he is an "ex" Marine...is there such a thing as an ex-Marine? Once a Marine - always a Marine. IMHO he is a ex-American!
And this is EXACTLY why we cannot allow Murtha to continue to use the lives of our troops in his partisan games and seditious propaganda. He's done FAR TOO MUCH HARM already. The bell cannot be un-rung. An apology cannot fix the damage already wrought!

It sounds like they will release a report. When and if they do, I would wager they don't announce that the Marines involved are guilty like that lowlife Murtha did on national TV.
Second, even if everything comes to the worse possible scenario, he cannot be stupid enough to know that his sound bites won't be gobbled up by every islamofascist nut and lefty freak, and used as a cudgel against our military, just as Abhu Ghraib and the fake Koran story were. It is a calculated attempt to inflame anti-war sentiment in an effort to discredit this administration, with the troops used as pawns. It's a continuation of the same type of crap he has been spewing for quite some time. Murtha the EX-Marine is without remorse and without honor.
That you don't seem to grasp the real issue here is troubling, especially since it has been clearly stated over and over again.
Yes, the Pentagon IS GOING TO release a report. AFTER the report is released everyone is free to, and will, comment extensively.
The point is, Murtha couldn't keep his damn trap shut until the investigation was completed. He decided he would be judge and jury BEFORE the investigation was completed. Who is to say his assault did not did not taint the outcome?
What did you think about Durbin and his rhetoric regarding the guards at Gitmo? How about j F sKerry and his statements regarding our troops terrorizing kids and children and ... women? How about the koran flushing debacle? Was that okay, too? Those allegations all proved false. How much did you hear about that?

Perhaps you should try grasping the political reality of the situation. If the Pentagon report says what Murtha has been saying, regardless of how he has been saying it, how is Murtha going to spin it? I'll tell you right now that he will spin it expertly and the voters will eat up the whole thing.

He can spin it all he wants. I'll tell you one thing. The idiots who pull the D lever like lab rats to get their government crack will support him. The Zell Miller Dems (like many of my own family members in his district) see clearly how his actions are further endangering our troops will kick his fat ass to the curb.
Regardless of how he says it? That has everything to do with his credibility. I don't think you give Ms. Irey credit for her intelligence. It's not difficult to expose a person who uses our troops for political advantage when they so blatantly stretch the truth.
Sorry, I know quite a few in his district that are big supporters because of his anti-Iraq stance...and these are pretty conservative Dems.
The reality of the situation is that Irey has chosen to attack Murtha on one issue, and it looks like she may lose the leverage on that issue.
And can you please stop with the petty personal attacks.
What other issue does Murtha have? We never heard of him until he became the poster boy for the anti-war and anti-military crowd. If the Marines acted wrongly, they will pay the consequences, but what about Murtha's actions of blatantly giving out information that was supposed to be confidential? It speaks volumes about his lack of character and the fact that he can't be trusted!
I'm sure there are other issues Mrs. Irey can and will use. I believe Mr. Murtha has been accused of using his postion to throw business to his brother, has he not? He can be anti-Iraq, but using his position and rhetoric to deliberately undermine our military and nation while we are at war, makes him a despicable human being IMO. His rhetoric is giving aid and comfort to the enemy, and I will gladly financially support Mrs. Irey!
