If this investigation is completely thorough, there'll be a huge number of dems that will go down also.

I know how the repubs think - if they allow this to happen then it'll be their turn next - and the dems will not be outraged about it at all. Wonder if there is surveillance set up to catch other congress critters hauling off incriminating evidence they thought was safely tucked away in their offices. Bet there will be a sudden need for many new hard drives, etc.

Could it be that a major offensive has begun?
The Left starts "Republican culture of corruption " attack.
and then......
The Left starts getting held accountable for everything from attacking a police officer, special treatment for a Kennedy drunk, leaking National Security secrets to the New York Times and taking bribes.
I can't believe it. After all these years, are we finally fighting back?

Well .. they're set to recess on Thursday or Friday - until June 19. This will be a good time to clear out their trash.

I think Hastert is wrong.
Nor do I believe in diplomatic immunity for those who live at the UN.

BS - Congress can go to hell. Those AH simply want to be above the law. They trample the Constitution every day. I hope the administration calls their bluff!
Those AHs, most all of them, have surely lost my respect.

Sounds like Felony to me. Now let me see if I understand this, the house of Representative's leadership is harboring a Felon?

Term limit sounds better all the time.
I still hate term limits because I think the number of terms of the politician should be up to the voters but given that the voter cannot be bothered to cast out a corrupt politician if they are of the same party and the general public could care less...it is time for them.

They're just harboring the felons that Americans won't harbor. :)

"Unless Hastert is saying that the bribe was part of congress official business, he doesn't have a leg to stand on" You might be on to something "for-q-clinton". Given his girth, it looks like he has way too many dinners payed by lobbyist! I think he can be be bribed with a BBQ pork sandwich.

When Hastert couldn't succeed as a wrestling coach, he ran for congress and joined a lot of other losers.

It's a bullet that our army needs. You're either with us or against us. This isn't about you, pal. It's about our country. Get a grip. Well I'm in the Military, so does that make my point more valid? Based on your answer I'd say it does.

No, it's utterly irrelevant. See, I'm not talking about the real Army. I'm using what's called a figure of speech.
I was telling this person that he/she needs to fight the Rats, which he/she doesn't want to. The military doesn't fight the Rats. The Republicans do, sometimes, some of them. They're all we have.

Do the actions of Hastert and Pelosi, in reference to the raid on Jefferson's office, set off any alarm bells for anyone?
One would think that the intelligent move would have been support for the raid to show that they are serious about ethics issues. This reaction makes me question the ethics of these two critters. It seems to me that this may be a preemptive move to prevent their own offices from being searched in the future.

Exactly correct. The very first tenat of the Contract With America, back when the republicans were honest and sincere, and wanted to govern well -- the very first tenat was No Laws for Congress, that are different than the laws for the rest of America... Some of them have been there too long. Time to send them home.
