Ladies and gentlemen, I give you William Jefferson, Democrat, Louisiana, the gift that keeps on giving. A man who has brought Nancy Pelosi's "Culture of Corruption" train to a screeching halt. A man who will never ever go away, but instead, just keep going and going like the energizer bunny. Here is to you William Jefferson, Democrat, Louisiana, so kick back reach into your magic freezer and pull out a cold one (no, not a frozen Benjamin) and enjoy, you my fine friend have earned it.

"We think those materials ought to be returned," Hastert said, adding that the FBI agents involved "ought to be frozen out of that (case) just for the sake of the constitutional aspects of it."
Now that's funny! I read that the agents involved in the "raid" weren't the ones working on the case because they didn't want the appearance of wrongdoing. They brought in agents who had not been working on the case to search his office.
If I can find it again I'll link it.

CASE 1
Tom Delay (R) is accused of some kind of vague conspiracy by a Prosecutor with a bad history, on the 5th grand jury, with no evidence and who will be lucky not to go to jail himself.
The result: Tom Delay leaves his leadership position in 'media disgrace' and later retires.
CASE 2
William Jefferson (D), after all of the HIGHLY questionable shenanigans in new Orleans, is busted taking 100k in bribes ON TAPE, and later found to have 90k of it stuck in his office freezer.
The Result: Concerns of separation of powers, and the right of the 'executive' to raid a congress-critter's office after he has been taped taking bribes.
So pathetically typical....

I didn't know that Congressmen were above the law.
