At some level I agree with you, but I don't want people in office who can play politics. I want people who have as their primary goal doing what is best for the country--which almost always is NOT playing politics.
What we need to do is get rid of these two political parties. Party politics doesn't belong in the House especially. Each representative should be 100% focussed on representing their STATE, not their political party.
Sure they and we have freedom of association, but we should choose NOT to associate with political parties for the house seats. Every state should have their own political party.
Your point is valid too, but when are we going to show half the shrewdness of the other side and play some hardball politics?
It is a total embarrassment for us to allow a seriously wounded minority democratic party to be successful in sidetracking our adgenda day after day.
Almost every issue is an opportunity to stuff the dems and our side bungles it. We need new leadership. Starting with limp wrist Frist. Politically speaking, I'd trade you two Frists for one Ried any day of the week.
