If he walked away, it was a successful landing. I think they should investigate his new airframe mechanic, though:

LOL, Jack has already survived a plane crash.....now if he can only get off that slow boat to China as quickly. Jack will turn that slow boat to China into a fast boat to the bottom!

How about the episode where a guy was pinned by a subway car?

Hey vintage: I am 62 and a retired commercial pilot. I have been thinking of getting an ultralite but don't know which one. Can you suggest one or two? Thanks. Hank

I join in prayer for his full recovery!

I suggest you go the Sport Pilot route. See the Zenith and Rans sites. A true ultralite is too restricrtive. You can only fly about 45mph and you are restricted to 5 gal of gas. The Sport Pilot requires no medical.

That other thread at least has a non-misleading title. Bauer crashed in a light plane, not an ultralight. Big difference.

Well, it sounds like he's okay, which is good!
Y'know, it doesn't surprise me that Leadfoot Bauer has a Mooney. Mooneys are fast, and South Carolinians know that Andre do love his fast. Just ask any of the many cops that have pulled him over the past few years. :)

somewhat of an embarrassment to the state through his multiple controversial traffic violations LOL. The first time I heard of this incident I asked "was he running from the highway patrol?"

the MooneySo is it a Mooney or an ultra-light? We own a Mooney. For sure it is not an ultra-light.

I used to fly them when I was younger, haven't flown one in about five years. Its the most fun you can have with your clothes on and would be the safest form of travel there is, but for one thing, Gravity.

I loved my old Weedhopper C. They are slow and handle like a barge but are tough and easier to operate than a golf cart. I have an old Teratorn TA tail dragger now that has been dismantled in my barn for years.
