I just wish Bush & Co. would have brought Tony in earlier. But, better late than never.
I doubt Tony's health would have allowed it before now.
With Tony's cancer being treated last year, it seems the timing turned out well. But I would loved to have had TS "handling" the WH press corps a longgg time ago.
This might just be the best time for Tony. Everyone knows, after his radio show, that he isn't just a blind partisan. And that he knows what information we need to have, and what we don't.
There's a level of trust that even Tony might not have been able to get earlier. And I am confident that he won't squander that.
