Al-Zaid seems to be a fairly common name in Saudi Arabia.
Zaid could be a place name or a tribal name. With Al-Zaid meaning, from that place or tribe.

Now THIS is a story.
Great job.
To: Sam Hill
Yeah, they get named the same all over the Arab world, from what I understand. Hence, Saddam Hussein al-Tikrit. 'cause he's from Tikrit.

I think he's Catholic. He took Mohammad as his confirmation name.

Boy, this guy seems to have every bad characteristic possible. Yeah, non-European last names are bad.
To: Sam Hill
He's fourth-generation Lebanese-American. His parents changed his name when he was two years old, so what?
Of much greater interest, as far as legal filings involving MacBeth go, is this bench warrant for his arrest for assault and violating a restraining order issued TODAY by a Pierce County judge.

This guy claimed in a video that he was part of a Ranger Battalion that slaughtered numerous civilians in Iraq. He claimed he was part of the Fallujah campaign and he alone killed something like 200 civilians. It was supposedly their mission to go out and put fear into the hearts of the Iraqis.
He's since been shown to be a poseur wearing fake military clothing and awards. He supposedly was wounded, was awarded a series of medals, and is now having trouble getting support from the VA.
He apparently joined an anti-war veterans group. Yesterday, the DU community went wild over this video only to find out later it was fake. For one reason, the unit he claimed to be a member of was stateside during the Fallujah campaign.

Al-Zaid--is that muslim or amish? Neither, it's probably Arabic. What about the name MacBeth? That certainly has some negative connotations attached to it. I'm surprised that you didn't mention it.
To: Sam Hill
I would've changed the first name while I was at it.
(sorry, Jesse)
