Hmm. I was more into the nerdy-type stuff. Diplomacy, Axis and Alllies, Federation and Empire, Starfleet Command, and Starfire. I'm a product of the PC though; most of the wargames I play are computerized versions of the older ones.

There's an excellent game called Space Empires IV that is basically starfire for PC. They're developing SE5 as we speak and it looks to be even better. But much like you, I really don't have the time to play anymore. And I never got into as serious as some of the more...colorful members of the wargame community did.

Ah, Axis and Allies! Great game. I'm hoping to get two games that are out of print that I've heard good things about. The old 80s version of Heinlein's Starship Trooper and Kingmaker (game where you install a ruler in feudal England).

About 10 years ago, Avalon Hill was working on Thrid Reich for the PC. The last I heard, they got to the beta stage, and then it disappeared. I don't think it was ever completed, but I could be wrong.

Atomic Games developed some terrific PC war games a few years back, and I have several of them. Their Utah Beach sim is excellent, but is probably dated now. I remember I had to upgrade to a 1 mb SVGA video card to make it work!

Diplomacy is a game I always thought about buying, but never got to it. It was Henry Kissinger's favorite board game, btw.
