Perhaps you can show us exactly which freedoms you have personally observed being "rolled back." In some ways, people are personally freer than we are in the States. Now, that doesn't mean I'd prefer to live as a Russian citizen, BUT, it does mean that they are allowed to do a bit more than we are in our personal lives. Perhaps you should start working a little harder to "rollback" the barriers to our personal liberties that the idiots in Congress and the Clintonites imposed on us. Well lordy lordy, spannie, you just prove you have some reading comprehension problems. I've told you quite a few times that I did 3 years in the Army and switched to the AF where I did 20 years and just retired. I NEVER studied Russian in Moscow - I learned it at the Defense Language Institute. I worked 10 years in the former Soviet Union.
I interviewed former SOVIET Vietnam War veterans - the majority of whom (that I interviewed) were UKRAINIAN air defense officers who shot down our airmen.

Which brings me to another point - if your parents actually did escape the "Russians" in 1938 - why in the hell would they let their son go to visit the Soviet Union during the 70s? To give the Soviets money from tourism - which supported the Soviet system. Furthermore, the Gulag survivors and defectors that I was taught Russian by REFUSED to go back to Russia or Ukraine or Belarus until the SOVIET UNION COLLAPSED. And even then most of them chose not to go visit. You're a fraud. It's plain to see.

I would need a full time research assistant to respond to all your absurd allegations. I never said they escaped Russia - HINT: What country did Russia invade in 1939?
And I never said Gulag. Actually , the area was far worse than a Gulag - mortality rates were much higher during Russias Secret Holocaust in 1932.
