I dare to say that you are so deeply involved in Kremlin's apologism that you are unable to judge anybody in these matters.

The westerners were slaves of Poles and then Germans, the eastern Ukrainians belonged to Russia and were part of Russian nation. We fought together and we lived together and we've always been one people united by our language and Orthodox Church. And it's ridiculous to name Ukraine a 'colony'.

Himno.
Ukrainians were made serfs ( my own great grandfather was not emancipated till 1863), lorded over by their Russian masters. If ukrainians fought it was because they were drafted into the Russian Imperial forces as cannon fodder. Ukrainian language and culture was supressed, . Russia did everything it could to destroy Ukrainian national identity. And every chance they had, as in 1918, again in 1940, and finally in 1990 Ukrainians have tried to throw off the smothering embrace of our "brothers".

Greek commies are still active in Greece unfortunately...and were among the most fervent supporters of stalin and Lenin's regimes. They deserve severe condemnation for the brutalities they exhibited during the civil war in Greece. And yes there were a few commies who went to Russia when lenin started assembling his thugs...there have been greeks as well who have lived in russia and the whole region amongst the Slav peoples for at least 1000 years and especially since Cyril and Methodius began their holy conversion of the heathens to Christianity.

I do not believe the Russians deserve first position. The revolution was carried about by an international group of thugs and the largest number of victims were Russians. I cannot speak of ethnicities when referring to ideology.

Comrade Yuri was banned, unfortunately. Always when the new blood from Russia appears on FR and claim that Soviet Union was basically Russia, they are quickly banned. Then American Russophiles show up and claim that the Russians could never think so. So, how many of such Russians were banned here? I stopped counting…

Oh come on! Greek are absolutely not responsible for Soviet crimes, 0,1% in CPSU is nothing. Russians had 58,64% and absolute majority, why to deny facts confirmed even by Russian statistics?

Btw I noticed Greek communists in the European parliament and the European Council, they seems to be worse than post-communist from Eastern Europe.

Try again Lukie - I am not and have never been an apologist for anyone, any country, or any "movement." Unlike you, I served the forces of the United States that made significant contributions to defeating communism - the very system you were educated in and the one you refused to take up arms against. So, in short, any such "claims" by you - a "reformed" Communist are absurd.

You need to read more carefully. I never said that Greeks were in the vanguard of the Soviet revolution...put aside the vodka when you read. A very disgusting thought given the bravery sacrifices and persistence of the free Greeks in fighting a bloody civil war against the traitorous commies in the civil war 1946-1949. Greeks however are responsible for having brought Christianity to Slavic lands including Poland and of that the ancestors of Greeks are rightfully proud.

As for the Eurocommies: I'd much rather deal with the outright commies than the devious "third way" punk Socialists hiding behind the Green banner and hiding behind NATO as well.

A final note on Russians and Bolshevism: Bolsheviks were opponents of Russian traditional statehood and the Russian Orthodox Church and therefore fought against the interests of the Russian people who as we have said many times before suffered disproportionately at the hands of the Commies.
