Farmers appreciate a good performer as much as anyone. And they appreciate even more a man who can get things done.
Not really. Farmers are pretty cynical about politicians. And the Rockefeller wing leads the way in opposing farm subsidies. And while they might like someone who can get things done, they are far more opposed if they think that the things he'll do are not in their interest.
He'll be a tough sell in Iowa.
To: George W. Bush
There is no Rockefeller wing of the GOP. The man has been dead over two decades.
Cynicism will not prevent Rudy from wowing the Iowans or anyone else.
He will do well enough in Iowa to survive to win the major states. IF he runs and that is a big IF. Right now there is only McCain who can challenge him.
