Rudy is our guy.
McCaine will never make through the primaries. I don't have to explain.
Allen is flat out unelectable in the general. NO WAY is the country going to vote for another fiscally liberal, Southern, inarticulate, social conservative. Bush 3 ...No way. It's worth about 25% of the vote.
Newt..Pence....Romney...no..no...no...that leaves...
Rudy will be the man. I think you know it too.
To: Sabramerican
Last thing ..people say it's way to early.
I say it's a lot later then they think.
To: Blackirish
Deep down, I fear the party that nominated a sure loser, Dole, will do it again.
The problem is the McCain and Giuliani may split the same vote in the primaries, canceling each other out. Or Giuliani may not run if McCain does.
I agree with you about Allen. No way he wins in 2008. He might win in a prosperous peaceful time. A time nothing like the present.

Rudy Giuliani: a pro-illegal alien, pro-gay, anti-gun greaseball from New York Your posts always left me feeling you had an inflated sense of importance. This one proves you're also a pompous ass who owes all Freepers of Italian descent an apology.

I don't think McCaine scares Rudy.
I could be wrong but I don't think McCaine will be a threat to him. He's damaged beyond repair. I'd see McCaine bowing out to Rudy.
But hell I'm a political junkie but not a fortune teller. I'm just goin with what I see.
To: Jameison
I don't know where you live, but where I'm from, conservatives and most Republicans would never, EVER vote for anyone who wants to take our guns away.
To: StarFan
LOL. You hear that?
Its the sound of the world's smallest violin, playing just for you, and you admirers of Rudy Rockefeller.
BTW: My mother's maiden name ends in a vowel. I guess I own myself half of an apology!

The Ramones were Yankees fans.

Johnny was a Yankees fan. Dee Dee was a Mets fan. Not sure about Joey or Tommy (or Richie or Marky).

Joey was a Yankees fan. I've never heard of any suggestion that Dee Dee liked the Mets.

""Just his anti-gun position alone will hurt him tremendously in the 'red states'.""
So tel lme which "red" state especailly those in the south, would vote for hillary?
To: One-Four-Five
Anyone from Queens who roots for the Yank-offs should be sent to exile in Jersey.
Yankees fans = Mafiosi and yuppies. Must be great to be a fan of New York's "second team" now dominated by has beens. ;-)

"You're confusing number of mentions in the media with name recognition"
Nope.
You are probably confusing yourself.
HItlery has both more name recognition and has had far more mentions in the drive-by media than Rudy. The drive-by media postively go orgasmic at the sight of Hitlery.
By far.
Rudy is still trumping her in the polls even from the drive-by media, so you can probably add anotherat least 5% or so to Rudy's figures.
No matter how you twist it, Rudy, with lower name recognition and fewer mentions in the drive-by media, is smoking Hitlery.
That is FACT.

"Not Fantasyland... I've yet to meet a single gun owner that will vote for Guiliani if Mark Warner runs... "
That's a scientific national poll?
And how many states have you talked to gun owners in?
" I suppose that is why the Republican slate is supporting legalizing the illegal aliens..."
According to all polls I have seen, Republicans don't support illegal aliens.
I am strongly against any amnesty whatsoever for illegal aliens
"As to the polls, I don't listen to the polls since they are usually off quite a bit. The only one that counts is the one on election day. "
True.
But from knowing for sure that all drive-by media polls are automatically biased against Republicans, and if even the drive-by media have Rudy solidy ahead against their sweetheart Hitlery, then in my book, it means Rudy is even ahead by a BIGGER margin ahead of Hitlery.
I usually add at least 5% and more to drive-by media poll figures for Republicans. Another reason I am not too worried about President Bush's "low poll figures" .

"I will not lose sleep over some mountain man refusing to vote for Guiliani. It's called democracy. So go vote for your third candidate."
Heck, neither of us is getting insomnia any time soon. I won't lose sleep over some horse's ass telling me what counts in a candidate, what makes Rudy right, is that he's got more votes than the other nominees. Arguments ad popularum are fallacious. The question the McQueeg and Rudy pushers should ask is whether the conservatives will leave the party entirely if either of those folks win the nomination. Seems pretty clear it'll fracture, maybe even end the neocon-conservative alliance outright, if another obvious RINO is the GOP standard bearer.

"what makes Rudy right, is that he's got more votes than the other nominees"
Again it's called democracy.
That's what primaries are there for.
Several candidates go through the primaries, each with their own supporters.
At the end of it all, whoever emerges with more votes/delegates wins and becomes the candidate for the party.
You don't need me to tell ya, only one candidate out is going to win.
What matters is that our candidate is able to smoke the RATS candidate, who's looking increasingly like its going to be the witch Hitlery. Rudy is in a very strong position to take out the witch.
"The question the McQueeg and Rudy pushers should ask is whether the conservatives will leave the party entirely if either of those folks win the nomination. "
Wrong question.
Only question that matters is, who has the most votes from all Republicans at the end of the primaries.
"Conservatives" as you out it, are as free as anyone else to vote for their own candidate..he simply has to get more votes than anyone else by the end of the process, that's all.
"The question the McQueeg and Rudy pushers should ask is whether the conservatives will leave the party entirely if either of those folks win the nomination. "
Don't see nuthin' of the sort.
Thees lil "It's either my way or the highway" tantrums are so old hat.
The Republican Party has survived those kinds of stresses for over 100 years, as it will survive for the next 100 years.
To: Jameison
You obviously miss the point.
Rudy and McQueegiacs are all about their candidates' electability in the general. The problem is that 1) they have to win the primary (they won't) and 2) they have to get the GOP rank-and-file to vote for them in the general (they won't).
But you can spout off about it being 'called democracy' all you want. Conservatives won't come out to vote for a candidate who beats Hillary by being Hillary. We can get the real thing just by staying home.

Dear Jameison,
"HItlery has both more name recognition..."
"That is FACT."
That is an assertion. Please cite the polls conducted strictly on name recognition that show substantially greater name recognition for Mrs. Clinton than for Mr. Giuliani.
However, if Mrs. Clinton is doing so poorly, then we should be able to nominate just about anyone and cruise to victory.
