PING!
That's the whole point of the matter, Emilio - - it ain't supposed to work; it's all window dressing.
This retired Army Col is going to wish he'd not retired:)
This has got to be one of THE most thankless jobs on the planet..
At the present time the DHS people handling these files have 4 minutes to make a determination. Add to the 4 million currently in line another 12 to 20 million, and what do you have?
We'll have 20 million new illegal immigrants to process by the time we get to the end of the current crop of illegals.
How can you hope to establish an accurate picture of how long illegal aliens have been in the USA? Especially for those who have fraudulent documents.
Don't leave out the 5 million legal applicants a year under the Senate Bill. Now, what do you have? A major mess, considering that Homeland Security cannot adequately check legal immigrant backgrounds at the current rate (around 950,000 a year)!
I'm not sure that you can. Perhaps DHS could hire Miss Cleo to figure that out?
Teddy wrote the Bill and he says he doesn't care about such frivolous details.
I'm sure most Senators haven't even read the bill they are so eager to vote for.
I agree which means when some kind of bill passes, that the Democrats who voted for the bill trusted Teddy Kennedy's staff who wrote it, and the Republicans who voted for it trusted President Bush who once again like with No Child Left Behind trusted Kennedy, someone who only wishes the President and his party nothing but harm.
And the Republicans were too lazy to write a bill so they eagerly accepted Kennedy's. He must be feeling proud as a peacock about now.
What I've been wondering. There's no real way to prove or deny how long one of them has been here. Being here illegally is a crime in itself and if they have any documents they are likely fraudulent. It would take a huge leap of faith, or just plain stupidity to trust an illegal alien to tell the truth if asked.
I am not sure lazy is the best descriptor. The Republican Party is like many athletic teams when they have the lead, they play not to lose. But always trying to thread the needle and just to get by in order to run the clock out until the next election, will eventually cost them.
Exactly. It's not supposed to work. It's just supposed to sound good in Spanish.
IMHO, it has already cost them! Political suicide is not nice but the pubbies have committed it. I think that a recovery before November is almost impossible. Problem is that the pubbies have never played like winners......
Roughly 10 percent of Mexico's population of about 107 million is now living in the United States, estimates show. About 15 percent of Mexico's labor force is working in the United States. One in every 7 Mexican workers migrates to the United States.

"There's a new sheriff in town, and three years [after USCIS was created], I want to know whether we're staffed properly, I want to know whether we're paying what we should be paying for contractors, and I want to know if there's a better way to do it," he said."
When the current bill fails the sheriff will find the money gone away. Bush will not support border security, it's the card in his hand to force through an Amnesty. Dems will run that conservatives are obstructionist, that reasoning will fall flat.
"I agree which means when some kind of bill passes, that the Democrats who voted for the bill trusted Teddy Kennedy's staff who wrote it,"
I doubt the "staff" wrote it. These bills are written by lobbyists, the staff might look them over.
