The more I look into this, the more I realize how delicate this situation is and President Bush really is thinking strategically. The hyper-reactionary critics only think about locking down, but the President is also thinking about securing the entire N. American Continent.

Not just for now...but for a long time to come, may I add.

I think there are quite a few people who genuinely believe that we can completely seal ourselves off from the world and survive. In fact, I think President Bush might have thought that before 9/11.

But that day really did change everything. We can remain a super power, live strong, free and offer hope to the rest of the world—or we can be a small, insular country in which citizens eek out a living and hope for the best from their neighbors.

I can tell you which I'm willing to invest in.
