Where did you hear this? I think both parties are full of people who mainly want to reinforce their own ideas and do not handle debate or disagreement well.

Don't let a few jerks on FR convince you that conservatives are like Dems. I have never met a hard core Dem who could defend a single point without name calling or trying deperately to change the subject.
