You're right..........they aren't the base..........they just CALL themselves the base. (Which is why I put the word in quotes).

But you're right that they share the goal with the left.........to divide and conquer the REAL base..........that would be us.

My only fear is that they are beginning to succeed. They are turning some away from the reality of who this President is, and what he has done for this country, and placing doubts in people's minds about him.

If these pseudo-cons succeed in turning this country over to the RATS, I fear for the future of America.

Great point. Not only are you correct, the constant nasty comments have convinced me that even IF some conservative would win the Presidency any time in the future, they would be a disaster at the job.

The POTUS is President of all the people and must put the nation ahead of any ideology. Whomever is in that office must be totally aware of how American actions resonate in a world full of envious and perfidious allies and many enemies. We are not a totalitarian dictatorship. Our Constitution and the rules of the Congress give great powers to the minority and demand a supermajority in order to overcome minority objections and obstruction. The answer to many of our problems with the Senate is to elect more Republicans to reinforce our caucus.

I feel betrayed every time I read some violent post or some screed impugning the character of President Bush. I don't always agree with him, but I admire him and, above all, I respect the office. It is the Senators who have been seduced by money from the corporations which need slave labor who have truly sold us out.

Very well said. That has serious tagline potential too. As many have said repeatedly, it isn't civilized disagreement that is the problem although some people here keep claiming that is the case. That sounds like DU too, and their cries of "fascism." It's the nasty name-calling and attributions of malice and even treason to President Bush that is the problem.

The key is to get in early on their bashing posts (well........they bash on EVERY post), and post the truth to rebut their lies and venom.

Any post about President Bush needs to be attacked by US early on. We're the majority, so we should be able to do it.

We need to post the FACTS in response to their hysteria, and defeat their vile attempts to rip us apart.

I've noticed that threads can be turned around if enough calm, factual posts are there to counter their emotion-based nonsense.

We can even have some fun with it (because they ARE ridiculous), and get control of this forum. I think Rush and Hannity read this, and think these out of control extremists actually speak for conservatives. THEY need to know the truth too.

We just need to make a concerted effort to counter their idiocy and hatred of this GOOD President with the truth.
