I love finding that in my leaders. Which, I think, is why I was disappointed with my leadership in the National Guard when I joined up.

Indeed we are. Just take a look at today's 'work ethic'. (Now, admittedly the US demands the most hours out of it's people, and has the least amount of vacation-days of the industrialized world. But I blame that to the "work to time" and not "work to job" standard.)

Yep. I pessimistically think it may be too late to get out of this whole mess bloodlessly... on the other hand, I optimistically hope Congress will do the right thing.
