Just don't let them read the bible; they might be influenced! The Song of Songs is absolute filth. I'm not saying we should ban the Bible, but we should definitely expurgate the offending portions, lest anything sexual reach the eyes of our impressional young ones.

Compared to what? The Perks of Being a Wallflower? A cheap romance novel? In that context The Song of Songs is downright boring.
I don't have a problem with my 14yr. old daughter reading The Song of Songs, I do have a problem with her reading some trashy paperback.

"The Song of Songs is absolute filth."
And don't forget the tale of Lot and his incestuous daughters. No sooner than they got out of Sodom, they start in with the incest, already.
Then there's old David, sending a woman's husband off to a certain death so he could have his way with her.
Lots of salacious stuff there in the Bible. And I'm not even getting into the violence, like dashing infants' heads against the wall.
Uffda!

The Song of Songs is far from filth. However, it is my understanding that Jewish children were forbidden from reading it until they had attained a certain maturity. This, is of course, as it should be with mature reading material.
