Societal Transformation, Not Just Immigration
Chicago Sun-Times ^ | 5/21/06 | Mark Steyn

Posted on 05/22/2006 6:14:43 AM PDT by RepublicanPatriot

As always, Mark Steyn sums up the situation perfectly. He points out that the current immigration debate is about more than just letting some people into the country or "legalizing" the ones who are here illegally -- it's about whether we're going to allow the fundamental character of our nation to be changed. Brilliant.

If this doesn't motivate you to phone your two senators at 202-224-3121 and/or at their local state offices at http://www.numbersusa.com/contactcongress.html and ask them to oppose S. 2611, the "comprehensive" (amnesty) immigration bill currently under consideration, I don't know what will.

Many lurk here on FR. I have seen some of my comments repeated in national publications, not often but enough to show that this site is well read. If the Republicans in Washington are not reading the FR posts, they are even more out of touch with reality than I thought.

We the American people must figure out a way to kick out the RINOs and the rest of the Republicans who are showing bad judgment--and support the Republicans of sound judgment--without allowing the decadent, psychotic, self-serving, anti-American Democrats to seize power. That's a tough challenge. But we must rise to it.
