The idea to form the North American Union as a super-NAFTA knitting together Canada, the United States and Mexico into a super-regional political and economic entity was a key agreement resulting from the March 2005 meeting held at Baylor University in Waco, Tex., between President Bush, President Fox and Prime Minister Martin.

If true, I would love to see the reaction of the American people if this laid out for public consumption. I suspect the Libs would be supportive. (it's right up their ally)

Amero
Altered form of French Amirault.
Do we really want a name with french roots?

Federalist 69, last one or two paragraphs, compares and contrasts the prerogatives of a king and the President. The president cannot proscribe rules regarding the currency of the US.

So, Bush really IS a globalist... You will have posters on FR that will say that if this is what Pres. Bush wants that is fine with them...he is their president. I am waiting for a vigorous defense of this plan from them.

"The American people will not allow the loss of the American dollars.
Any politician wanting to step forward to put their political necks on the chopping block should come forward on this."
Have you noticed that this integration hasn't happened overnight? It is an ongoing process over decades and it does not depend on one party or another, it just proceeds.

The North American Union is envisioned to create a super-regional political authority that could override the sovereignty of the United States on immigration policy and trade issues. In his June 2005 testimony to the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Robert Pastor, the Director of the Center for North American Studies at American University, stated clearly the view that the North American Union would need a super-regional governance board to make sure the United States does not dominate the proposed North American Union once it is formed:Now we know why the Senate is bucking the Americans on the immigration issue...

" I am not pleased that the POTUS would participate."
Participate? It was probably his idea, or his father's. Don't forget, George the First was the first American president to use the words "New World Order" seriously.

One currency and the harmonization of law via bureaucratic decrees for a North American super state has been the dream of the New York socialist Rockefeller wing for decades. Instead of making snide, stupid remarks, try doing some research and informing yourself. The battle between the Rockefeller Republican socialists (today we call them RINOs) and western conservatives for control of the Republican party policy is well documented.

Was that why I'll need a passport to visit Canada starting in a few years?
I don't know but I don't see us doing this anyway. Many European Countries are finding it was not as good an idea as they had thought.
