I think that this is the article.

Many thanks...
As looney as I think Nagin has been at times, he is FAR better than Mitch L, and that family. Good job! It looks like you folks were the ones who put him over the top, this was a surprise I think to the media.
This same Douglas Brinkley? LOL!

They must have missed the Karl Rove Campaign Winning Stategery lecture...
Listening to the liberal whites on the radio this morning was a trip. As a conservative, my gut reaction after the primary was that Nagin/Landrieu was the ultimate worst case scenario. But white liberals seemed to think this was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Yeah because they thought their boy Landrieu was going to have a cake walk to City Hall.
For conservatives, this isn't a bad situation at all. Once Rob Couhig endorsed Nagin, I felt better about voting for him. I probably would have anyway just because of personality. Nagin, like President Bush, is a very likable guy.
I have a couple Landrieu stories. The guy is an asshat. Let me put it this way, if you are a nobody Mitch will let you know it.
Ole Douglas wrote a knee pad bio of Jimmah Cahtah too.
No.. I don't, I think Mary Landrieu had something to do with it, maybe even with Harry Reid's help...but surely, Mary did.
I'm sure he learned some valuable lessons there. Katrina overwhelmed everyone, even President Bush, because we'd never experienced or expected that kind of damage. Hopefully everyone has learned something from this.
Clearly this is why Nagin praised Bush in his acceptance speech. A kick in the nuts thankyouverymuch to the DNC.
cool thanks
I think those threads on Aug 28/29 were the last time Louisiana had any good will from freepers.
What is amzaing is that one that one ven Fox showed his comments on Blanco and how the Crowd reacted. I mean the thing was sort of an combo and I am sure Nagin set it up that way to help BUSH and point at some realities. AHHso frustrating
But they tossed them the crumb of renaming Altanta's Hartsfield airport after him (after he died).
4. Diverted money from the New York democrat gubernatorial candidate (who was black) in order to attempt to beat Jeb Bush
They can say that the backstabbed Andrew Cuomo first, so that should make it okay.

Congratulations!
Of course now you will be hated by the Bush Haters/Walk on Water Uber Conservatives!
Great job. This is how decades of lies can be defeated in the streets.
So true. Defending Louisiana is almost impossible. Louisiana folks are expected and almost demanded to be in perptutual apologize mode. A quite innocent example is this response to the article I posted on comment 390 and the responses and my response that entail comments 392,394 396 and 397.

I am not picking on those folks at all but goodness it was nothing and is pretty typical. It would be nice to see a katrina evacuee saves a life story or a Katrina evacuee becomes an asset to the community story. But no its all how bad NOLA folks are and they are not appreciative. Well we know thats utter nonsense.
I have given up almost on trying to explain Louisiana here. There are too many sterotypes and caricutures that people do not want to give up. So many have so much invested in it. Its human nature. When things are going bad where you live there is great comfort in pointing out how horrible "them are.
I gave up after this thread:

Same stuff. It's like the media plays to people's prejudices.
I think Nagin realized that line was drawn by the DimocRats before the election was over. He was just responding to it. And, his response could have hardly been better.
