"If Mexico is incurably corrupt, why did we sign onto NAFTA?"

The majority of Americans didn't sign/buy into NAFTA. Bill Clinton ran his campaign on the premise that he was against it. However, when he became president, and the issue came before him, he didn't blink twice to sign it into law.

Connecting some dots. Ross Perot spoke about the "giant sucking sound" that would occur South of the Border. That surrealism hasn't quite come true yet. It will grow giant legs with the completion of the 'Trans-Texas Corridor, and the Punta Colonet project."

If you think about it -- probably the reason approximately 1/3 voted for Perot back then was because of his bluntness about what was coming -- that and the tax increase were probably the biggest reasons GHW lost, so the American People really did speak almost 15 years ago, just not enough were paying attention because there wasn't a dimes worth of difference between the two major parties.
