You don't have to be a hoodlum as you imply that poster was to realize that US trade policy and much of our foreign policy (ex-terrorism issues) is geared towards the interests of the fortune 100. "follow the money" may sound cliche but it is almost always a good rule when wondering why something is done.
Surely you don't think that GE, microsoft, Intel, Walmart, etc., have only the same amount of influence in washington AND WITH YOUR CONGRESSIONAL REPRESENTATIVE that you do?
