WASHINGTON, May 21 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The following is RNC response to John Edwards' appearance on ABC's This Week:
"John Edwards is faithfully carrying on the legacy of anger and vitriol exhibited by failed Democrat presidential candidates. His divisive and pessimistic rhetoric may appeal to the far-left, but it's also further proof that leaving Washington D.C. does not disconnect a Democrat from his party's agenda."
-Tracey Schmitt, RNC Press Secretary
ABC's George Stephanopoulos: "You've also said ... the president, is the worst president of our lifetimes." Former Sen. John Edwards (D-NC): "Yes." (ABC's "This Week," 5/21/06)
-- Former Sen. John Edwards (D-NC): "Who is the president? Who is the president that broke the law and the Constitution and started spying on the American people? Listen - the answer to that question as we've already heard is George W. Bush, the worst president in my lifetime." (C-SPAN's "Road To The White House," 3/5/06)
ABC's George Stephanopoulos: "Worse than Richard Nixon?" Edwards: "Absolutely, absolutely." (ABC's "This Week," 5/21/06)

George Stepawhathisface is a Clinton WH aid. Now, just how did he step out of that job into this one? Ever hear of a Republican WH aid getting a top Sunday jabber show?
Funny how that works. Now the MSM is telling us that Bush is a failure. That Saddam is some kina victim of American fascism.
Are you as sick of the media as I am?
joe reed also says Bush is a great president, who is he, we should be asking who is Edwards
Edwards was the worst Senator for NC, ever.
How in nether can this fop with his flowing locks compete for "The Worst," and not expect to win?
What a complete and utter failure as a politician.
The PROBLEM is that this crap goes by, unfiltered and unchallenged, by the supposedly "unbiased" media....
I say: John Edwards is a punk! and if his head wasn't so far up his A$$ he would acknowledge what right (intended) thinking people all know: Jimmy Carter was the WORST President of my lifetime followed closely by Bill Clinton!
Heaven forbid Mrs Clinton becomes President because that would throw the worst ever Prez into a real contest!
An 'Ambulance Chaser' like Edwards needs to be careful who he attaches the "Worst Ever" label to, because his Boy Kerry is mixed into that category along with Kennedy, Pelosi and Reid.
Surely this is a misprint. I'm certain that in any case he meant to say:
"Worse than Jimmy (The Peanut) Carter, the man who laid the important groundwork for bringing that wonderful movement known as al Qaeda to New York, Pennsylvania and Washington D.C?"
From the comments and posts here on FR lately there are many who seem to agree with the ex-Senator. Funny, it's OK for us to bash Bush but not the left...
FOP!! That is the word I have been looking for nearly three years to describe John Edwards. Thanks!!!!
I wish the RNC would quit posting this generic defensive sap in their responses and put some meat in them. No one will remember what the RNC said in their response.
The RNC needs to write more blunter and nastier responses.
These RNC responses are like those notices you receive in the mail or something. Seriously, they should hire a rapper to release their responses, call Edwards a "punk-mutha------" or something.
Worst Vice-Presidential candidate, ever.
Yeah, but they deserve to be bashed when they don't fight back. And they haven't fought back in a long time. I hope Tony Snow might make a difference, so far I don't see it.

John Edwards didn't run for re-election to the US Senate in NC because he would have been defeated. Edwards, Kerry and Gore have all been ripping Bush regularly and in the process look like sore losers and very petty and small. I guess Edwards will run for President in 2008 but when is the last time a private citizen was elected President? Once you are out of elected office, as he is, it seems to be the kiss of death in terms of ever becoming President. For as much as people bash politicians, it is always a currently serving politician that is elected President. Bush is a two term President; Edwards couldn't even beat John Kerry for the Democratic nomination for President. Enough said.
