"In the current case, the main charges brought against Hsia are related to her April 1996 fundraiser at the Hsi Lai Buddhist temple in suburban Los Angeles.

"Vice President Al Gore visited the temple at the time. The event resulted in about $166,000 in donations for the Democratic Party, which has refunded all of the money."
